Epaphras Update
Epaphras, who is one of your number always labor[s] earnestly for you in his prayers,

A TIME TO LEARN The most linguistically diverse nation in the world, Papua New Guinea has more than 800 languages. Bible translation and language development work are underway in nearly 200 of these languages, with a goal of beginning work in 50 additional languages in the next three years. Praise God for an excellent workshop held during September for translating the book of Romans. Thirty participants from eleven languages participated. Pray for the workshop participants as they continue to revise the work they've done on Romans.
A TIME TO BE QUIET Translation is in progress for more than 400 people groups whose homelands are in a 'sensitive area'. A sensitive area is an area of the world where political, religious, cultural or other situations in a community require extra care to ensure that neither those involved in ministry nor their work is endangered. Local people are often hesitant to work with foreigners. Pray God would raise up and protect local co-workers. Pray for God to quietly cover the courageous local people who allow their voices to be recorded so Scripture can be available in various media.
A TIME TO SPEAK UP The country of Brazil has the greatest remaining translation need in South America. There are seven languages awaiting translation programs and as many as 30 language groups that are inaccessible but with possible survey and translation needs. Pray for more people to speak up and join the Bible translation work in Brazil.
A TIME TO DANCE: According to John Watters, Executive Director of Wycliffe International: God continues to allow us to participate in the greatest acceleration in Bible translation the world has ever seen! Nearly 40% of the languages in which there is currently Bible translation activity did not have such activity seven years ago...that is new projects among 539 language communities potentially impacting over 160 million people!
