Many members of Dayspring have had a keen interest in ministry to students at the North Carolina School of Science and Math for years.  When we moved to our current location, the Dayspring Building at 922 Ninth Street, we found ourselves two blocks away from NCSSM.  This campus is a major ministry focus for us.

NCSSM enrolls about 500 students each year in grades 11 and 12.  The students are from all 100 counties in North Carolina.  We offer a host-family outreach that pairs students with a Durham family.  In some cases these become extremely close relationships.

Host families eat meals with their students, provide a quiet place away from campus where they can rest and recreate, and offer relationships which are more family oriented than the atmosphere of a high school/boarding school can provide.  Some NCSSM students actually join Dayspring and become members during their two years at the school.

Dayspring Fellowship exists to equip its members in using their God-given gifts, abilities, and resources to fulfill the Great Commission, bringing Christ to Durham and the world. Three qualities that we seek after in the life of Dayspring are: authenticity, community, integrity. Three gifts we seek to offer to ourselves and others are: love, acceptance, forgiveness.
