Global Impact Team Just wanted to say hello from Lopburi, Thailand. We made it here two days ago in the morning at around 10. We went up to Chiang Mai in Northern Thailand for a few days since OMF has a big center there for the Mekong field which we will be a part of after our language study here in central Thailand. So far it has been great being here. It has been overwhelming being here finally and not knowing how to communicate to everyone yet, so we are really looking forward to finally learning the language. We are excited because OMF has one of the best, if not the best, Thai language school here in all of Thailand. A lot of other agencies like Wycliffe, etc…will send their missionaries here to learn Thai. OMF has been great in helping us to get adjusted to the culture and showing us where everything is. It would be so much more difficult to come out here all alone without any structure step up to help us. God is so good and we are rejoicing that he has sent us to such a dark and lost country. Everywhere you go you can see shrines set up in people’s front yards to appease the spirits and earn good karma. Buddhism is such a way of life here. I think the longer we are here the more we will realize how much a part of the culture it is. Pray for us as we get adjusted to the culture and deal with homesickness and culture shock. Homesickness has not been bad yet but culture shock has been hitting us a little bit. Everything is very different from the US and in certain areas of life we need to learn to how to live all over again. Also, let us know what we can be praying for you and the church. If it is alright I can send some pictures of what it is like here. I like to check before I do because some people don’t like getting large attachments. God bless.
